Started CrossFit- February 2012
CrossFit Level 2 trainer since March 2013
I became interested in gym fitness after my “career” in other sports was over. Did the 3 sets of 10- back, bi’s, and tri’s thing for several years, got bored with that so I started teaching a group fitness “spin class”. Did that for a while then stumbled onto CrossFit and started trying a few workouts with my wife, Melissa, and the rest of the OG’s. I quickly learned that it filled all the voids that the traditional workout program and group fitness classes were missing. Number one, it was fun! We suffered our way through the workouts but spent the next few days talking about it and we couldn’t wait to try another one. It was measurable. We knew what our times and our weights were for each workout so we could periodically redo a workout for comparison. With that we found out that it produced maybe the most important aspect of all, results! As we redid workouts we got better each time, we noticed changes in how we felt, our bodies were changing. We were hooked!
Close second, the everyday challenge to see if you can push yourself just a little bit harder than the day before.
